| The Service Oriented
Enterprise (SOE) is a new model for architecting software and
I.T. infrastructure. It works in concert with current platform
architectures as well as enables next generation process-driven
architectures.
At its heart, the SOE employs the use of a Service
Network in order to achieve certain Objectives.
The Service Network introduces the concept of interface
ubiquity which enables the same base communication mechanisms
to be
|
used within
an application as is used between applications
as well as between trading partners.
This interface ubiquity reduces integration efforts and creates
a network effect for adoption.
The SOE brings interoperability and agility
to the forefront of system design. A major theme for the SOE is
to assume that the system will have integration requirements from
the beginning, rather than adding them on later as an afterthought.
