The ebMS (ebXML Message Service) is a specification
that extends the SOAP message. The additions
enable:
- Reliable
messaging across a route (not just hops)
- The use of intermediaries as routers
· Service level agreements in accordance with a collaboration
protocol agreement
- The ability to identify the payload
via a manifest
- Secure signatures for the message
|
ebMS also defines its own transport
protocol bindings. This is necessary because it defines some
of its payload outside of the SOAP envelope. Note that ebMS does
NOT provide message correlation
facilities.
